How Sunglasses Are Measured

Sunglasses are typically measured in millimeters (mm) and include three key dimensions:

Lens Width: Horizontal width of one lens.
Bridge Width: Distance between the lenses.
Temple Length: Length of the arm piece (from hinge to tip).

Each pair of GRUV. sunglasses has three numbers printed inside the temple arm.

For example: 49 ▫ 24 ▫ 147

Size Lens Width Face Fit
Small 46mm and below Narrow face
Medium 47-50mm Average face
Large 55 mm and above Wide face

Measure an Existing Pair

Steps:

  1. Grab your favorite-fitting sunglasses.
  2. Look inside the arm – you’ll often see numbers like “52-18-140.”
  3. Use those to compare with our size chart.
